DOOM new multiplayer DLC #2 is out

If anyone still cares for MP in DOOM, there is a new DLC http://doom.com/en-us/DLC

I want those pieces in SnapMap ;)

Saw that yesterday.  I was originally hoping it was SP DLC.

Being a Caco would be pretty cool though.

From AMA on Reddit it sounds like either no SP DLC is planned or it is but they don't say or they are working on DOOM II :)

Also sounds like they will be releasing Lazarus Labs environments for SnapMap next.

So my bet is on them keep releasing stuff for SnapMap, refining SnapMap as mod hub, and using all that for DOOM II.

I think they should stay away from releasing a brand new game for Doom 2. Why not just release it as a huge addon. I'd gladly pay $40 for another full DLC campaign with the same quality as Doom 2016. Heck maybe even $50. It would be best to keep it all on the same platform. Maybe do a little tweaking to the idtech 6 engine to make it look a bit better in Doom 2 and also have those changes affect Doom as well. I see no reason to do the Call of Duty/Madden method of sequels. The amount of content they've put out has been successful for them. Doing this too could start something new in the market. People would buy it for sure.

Not really see relevancy. Doom/Doom2/Doom3 was ok, but in 2016 making DOOM 2 is not ?!

They can re-use most content and add new content, update engine, add more enemies, etc. I'd certainly buy it. What's the difference buying DLC with new levels for like $40 and whole brand new DOOM 2 for $60 ? (assuming they will continue unfolding Doom Slayer story)

Although I think it would be a good idea to wait 10 more years for DOOM 2 and make RAGE 2 meanwhile ;)

This way people will miss DOOM and will be super happy with DOOM 2 :)

Or they can use what they worked on for DOOM 4 and make DOOM of DUTY ! I'd play that too :D

I see your point. But anything having to do with the Doom Slayer should be DLC. I see no reason why they can't keep adding to this game. Show what happens after the cliffhanger in Doom and go into Doom 2 eventually with DLC. If they're releasing Doom 2 in the next year it shouldn't be a separate game since it's just gonna use the same engine anyways with a few graphical enhancements. I don't want id going all CoD with the Doom franchise. Now if it's gonna be released in like 5 to 10 years then yeah I can get on board with a standalone Doom 2 because you know it's gonna have all new content and more then likely a new engine. But if not then give us a new game from a different IP like you said.

Classic Doom and Doom 2 had exact same engine, same content + new content, each cost $50 back in 90s and it wasn't a big deal. I still don't see your point rejecting Doom 2 in 2017/2018 as a standalone game.

I don't want it to be a DLC because my Doom folder has already gone up from 50gb on release to 70gb.  Add another 50gb for another "full SP DLC" and next time I want to play doom in a year or two I'll be waiting two or three weeks to download!  :)

I do like that the keep up on Snapmap.  I still want Doom/D2 style MP, not what they have now, but can't make everybody happy.  :)

Isn't new Free For All kinda similar to old Doom DM ? (I still don't know if they allow not having loadouts in that mode)

So just to be clear, you tried new update and FFA DM and there is no option to turn off loadouts ?

Just tried.  Doesn't seem to be a way to turn off loadouts & I can't make custom ones any more?  Or is that because I automatically joined a game in progress?

They must not allow you to join the server of your choice then?  I was under the impression they let you choose servers now.  I clicked "join" and it auto selected and ~10 seconds later loaded me in.
