id Tech 5 Modding / Re: ID tech 3 map to ID tech 5?

One simple way to get older geometry into idTech5 would be to open your .map file in an idTech4 editor (GTK,D3,Q4), then export your geometry as a model, then import that model into idTech5.  It won't be brushes, but that's ok, because brushes aren't as widely used anymore.

Id tech 5 Discussion / Re: How's the new Wolf?

The game's fantastic!  It's also makes great use of idTech 5.

More so than the differences in use of the tech I actually think it's a much better shooter than Rage.  It's flat out old school fun, though it does a great job of mixing up the gameplay to avoid nazi killin' fatigue.  The story and characters are fantastic too.

Not to derail... but, really?

Played it last night.  Great fun little level!  The old school exploration was a good change of pace.  And damn... that atmosphere!  The music, the scripted events, particle effects, lighting... it all gelled so well together to suck the player in.

The only real criticism I have is that after collecting the red key and the final weapon pick up, there wasn't much in the way of resistance between the exit and I.  It was a shame to get fully kitted out and not get a chance to use the new tools.
