@Bloodrayne : I want to know what you are working on.  Great video btw. I know I should post that in the other thread, but I am a shiftless drifter.
Currently I'm working a lot with speech recognition and speech synthesis and continuing work on the map builder (adding exporters for all Quake versions). I'm also hoping to jump into Unreal editing soon (this summer) as I do intend to make a switch to UDK soon.

I have created a program called 'e-book reader' which automatically creates Audiobooks for text. Users can add background sounds, different types of voices and background music. Using this you can create convincing audiobooks very (VERY) quickly.

Eventually I hope to implement this speech library into the D3 engine, meaning you can have your NPC's speak text without having to pay for a voice-actor. Some of the results are quite convincing and certainly usable in games (if you play a bit with the audio itself in terms of filters etc..)

An example is this rap cover I made using an Eminem song, using only voice synthesis.

I was wondering what that was, its interesting to listen to, (i expected it to be faster tho :p). I was like "why didn't he just use the original song vocals" I thought you were becoming a hip-hop producer for a minute there.
This is a really great idea, and I look forward to buying the software, if that is the route you take. It would be incredibly helpful, since there is so much i want to read, but I am often busy using my eyes on other things.
