Only 3 panoramas for now, but truly stereo VR :)

Tested with Gear VR, but should work on any VR HMD.

The 3d headsets are looking more & more interesting.  I still haven't tried the google glasses thing, just haven't had the time.

So does it really look like you're standing in a single location looking around?

I haven't tested it with Cardboard, but I recall you would have to find an app in the Play store that can view stereo panoramas.

Indeed. Plus, you see depth too.

Do you get any motion sickness from the 3D stuff?

Motion sickness in VR depends on same factors as in real life. You body can be trained to become less receptive to it too.

For example, when I started out with VR, I would get slight discomfort with static images as the ones I posted. Now I don't feel any discomfort with properly rendered (or properly photographed) VR images. Videos are fine too as long as camera doesn't move with acceleration/deceleration and doesn't move too fast and too often. Also if camera changes any view angles, I will feel nauseated. Same goes for games - Dreadhalls makes me sick very quickly. Any conventional control / locomotion scheme is a guaranteed fail in VR, especially for people who are more sensitive to motion sickness (like myself).

So after ~ 6 month of on and off usage of Gear VR I am quite comfortable being in VR, unless game/app takes away camera and locomotion controls away from me.

I think lack of positional tracking is the most critical issue with mobile VR. However, one guy created relatively inexpensive poistional tracking package that should really help with motion sickness and immersion.
