Apparently by default runAAS2 tries calling Incredibuild for distributed AAS compiling.

If you run compiler with "st" switch, it will build AAS locally out of the box:

runAAS2 <mapname> st

I just wish someone added either IQM or better yet glTF 2.0 support to it, lightstyles (to make animated lights), whatever improvements to gameplay that accumulated over the years and it could be a new candidate for modding in 2021.

Is it just me or anyone else likes Doom 2016 more than Doom Eternal ?

I like the details and visuals, but level design is meh IMO and the combat/flow is just not that exciting to me.. Maybe I am just done with crazy fast paces shooters where you have to constantly juggle weapons and gadgets..

Doom 2016 felt tighter and better put together IMO. Sure, the visual variety wasn't as diverse as in Doom Eternal, but the story telling and flow was better IMO.

I don't know.. At this point I feel like I should have spent that $64 (yeah, game + tax) on Half-Life: Alyx or even just wait for Cyberpunk 2077.

Allegedly Quake 2 is coming to Oculus Quest next week. From what I saw on Reddit, it looks quite legit.

It would be nice to dig up a Quake 2 mod coder and maybe we could have a VR comfort options mod made :)

Although it's not iD Tech engine, it's RAGE 2 !!! Out and sounds like a good game. Roadmap shows 2 content DLCs ahead, which is cool.

It's cool and all, but I think Machinegames took a wrong turn somewhere with Wolfenstein 2 and id tech 6. Wolf TNO looks so much better IMO, thanks to id tech 5 and art style that works with the engine.

What do you think ?

It appeared that SE2 wouldn't build on Windows 10 (and on top of that had some XAudio2 issues). We got a pull request with fixes submitted last night (on github). I'll try merging it today (if not, early next week), but if you want to test it now - it's there: https://github.com/motorsep/StormEngine2

I am being sarcastic.. With Fortnite and PUBG on the phones and VR, this seems to be a way too late to the gaming scene.

I'd rather much see fHDoom port to be made VR compatible so that people could mod for a new medium than Android port no one really cares about.

Worth noting that the only reason D3 can run on mobile with lighting isn't because of some amazing code optimizations but simply because mobile devices are that powerful nowadays.

Wow, pretty solid VR game. Hopefully Beth fixes stuff to make it more Rift friendly (they publicly said they will), but even now it runs smoothly and provides a whole new experience in VR.

Dishonored 2 demo is out now and is ~20Gb  :o Fret not, it included full 3 missions and both playable characters. If you decide to upgrade to full game later, all progress will be carried over and not lost.

Void engine is pretty damn good looking and snappy. Rumored to be built off id Tech 5.

Also can be played in VR via VorpX (I noticed there is an option to disable head bobbing - useful for VR)
