Staying signed in helps for me as I keep the other forum sub sections minimised. So I basically just one page of forums.

Something like that would be cool that Tastyspleen uses, maybe something that calls out popular threads or something in descending order?

But I do like the idea of promoting idtech modding, as it's slowly being brushed under the carpet, because there is no intereaction what so ever from id on the modding scene any more :(

The Happy Friar

Stupid me, latest posts are currently at the bottom of the forum on the main page.  They show even if you aren't logged in.  So, that should be up top or a separate page someone can click on?

Zombie

Hahah never noticed :D

Throw them at the top for sure.

The Happy Friar

Done.  The "old" core theme & love theme don't display it 100% as expect, but it works.  In the default theme it should show 8 latest posts.

I'll leave it like that for a couple days then change to the default "new posts" layout to see what y'all like better.

EDIT: that little icon to the left of "Recent Posts" brings up all the posts in order of posting so you can read/reply to all of them.  Handy.

Yeah, that works a lot better(at least for me!).  I wouldn't mind going to the smaller text that you had at the bottom if it helps keep things more neat and tidy.

I'd also be completely fine with the sidebar at tastyspleen.  Really just a quick way for a visitor to see the last X amount of recent posts.  Besides being useful to myself, a new visitor could at least see kind of what's immediately trending and that the board has activity in general going on.

QuoteBTW, why don't you stay signed in?

Basically a habit since I was a kid sharing a family computer.

Ok, I guess I'm dating myself by saying when I was a kids the only forums were on BBS's and you didn't have to worry about a family member using your account.  :)

Ok, I revered to the default way new posts are shows.  I prefer this way as it uses less screen realistate.  Let me know what you guys things.

Oopes.  Updating to latest version uninstalled the addons I added.  Now they should be readded.   :o

I just realized I never said hi and thanks for bringing us a substitute for the doom3world forums. I hope this place flourishes just as much as its predecessor.

Ah, it's good to be back. This place looks and smells great. Let the modding continue...

Welcome, it's great to have familiar names back and still modding!

Oneofthe8devilz is driving me nuts with neat looking youtube videos that can't be embedded, thus making me open a new window, so this weekend I'm going to find a way to embed youtube videos in to the forums.

Thanks devils for getting me off my  :magicpony: to finally get this done.   :broken:

Good stuff. Also, the last time I checked I couldn't get hyperlinks working. Has this been updated recently?
