Can't you extract the level assets and find them that way?

... Also, you could have The Doctor able to change or augment local machines. As an example, it could be determined that the critters use a particular wave to communicate with.  The Doctor canibalises local machines to make a wave detector or inhibitor. He could also be able to recharge health stations or hack them to provide other abilities.

You could, of course, have the original inhabitants turn up to see what the fuss is about. You could then get The Doctor to persuade them to help (the Martians may want to just nuke the base from orbit (you know, just to be sure)). They then work together to close the portal.

I was wondering if you were going to use the D3 engine for your mod.

There have been a few other attempts to make Doom In Doom 3. You may, or may not want to talk with these guys:

I don't like it either. Borderlands is VERY repetitive. I played the first level with some freinds and I felt like I'd been playing that level about 5 times! The same critters came up and the guns were too similar and it was confusing to do upgrades as I had no idea if I was upgrading or side-grading as there were just too many options and levels. The characters and monsters were just blehhh.

RAGE was magnificent. Levels like The Jackal Canyon kick Borderlands into a rusty bucket. I wish they had played up the economy a bit with more of a trading feel.  If not that, then just expanded the world a bit. I loved the graphics, the 'end of the world' feel and the running and gunning. I think if they hadn't just tacked on an ending, it may have been received better.

As to Wolf, I'm currently storming the U-Boat control room. Loads of fun and OTT weaponry. The only niggle is the weird 'make-work' side quests "Fetch me a welding torch- I can't be arsed" type of things. Apart from that. I'm loving it. The design work is particularly good. I even spotted a Nazified version of Lady Penelope's roller from Thunderbirds!

Hopefully I'm not the last forum member to hear about this place and return!

Thanks again for keeping the flame alive.

I was wondering the same. I really want to see what is going on with idtech6. Is it just a tweaked 5, or did they break the mold again? Did they go back to the old style 'live' renderer?

I'm interested to see what direction they went in.

I loved the look and feel of the game, as well as the mechanics. The thing I found really disappointing was the in-game economy and, sadly, the plot. Both were quite woefull, especially when compared to tedious fare such as the Borderlands series. I can't understand how that went on to a series and RAGE bit the dust.

I did find the ending really badly rushed and not well-thought out. I did really enjoy the rest of the game though.

One thing I've noticed About Wolf though - My Son wants to play it on his Steam account through Family Sharing. He can quite happily play Bioshock Infinite with all the settings turned up. Wolf will not run at anything more than about 7 FPS. It's really terrible. I've tried turning all the settings down and it still runs like crap. He's not got a slouch system either. It's not bang up to date, but it's not an intel GPU either. It's an AMD Phenom 965, which is a nice quad core. He's running a 9600 series Nvidia card. Again, not cutting edge, but he should get something out of it.

I'm really liking it. It's not a ground breaker, but it's lots of fun and well put together.

Then again, I'm one of those weirdos who liked RAGE  :-[
