Awesome. I love this game and this engine.

The funny thing is before I got my Nvidia GPU upgrade the beta looked like the Velocity Map screenshot on my monitor. Seeing that screenshot just now brought back those awful feelings of disappointment.  :(

Just no time to learn something new all over again is all.  So far I'm not thrilled by the selection on snapmap.  Most likely it's just because I don't have patience to try out new maps, or it's because id made snapmap maps based on the MP weapon setup, which I hate, but I keep looking for some awesome SP style maps that kind of mimic the SP stock content.

On second thought, it IS the force MP style you have to use for snapmap.  Also, just read this morning real DM is coming: https://twitter.com/DOOM/statuses/774052434381459456

Reminds me of Valve & HL2: didn't include DM, and when modders finally got stuff they're happy with Valve came in and said "Oh, here ya go!  thanks for building a demand, now we'lll undo all your work!"

I just can't get in to the MP.  I hate the loadout system, it's not doom.  I'd rather play Quake, or Q2, or Doom, or ETQW then this with others.

I've made 2 sp maps and it was very easy but I'm not ready to start releasing stuff. They're good maps though. Very tough. My goal was to make maps that give the player infinite ammo and all the weapons right off the bat leaving them only health and armor to worry about as well as inventory items. This gives me plenty of room to really throw enemies at them at an exhausting rate. Without breaking the balance of course. Still a work in progress.

I haven't played custom maps yet, so I can't say for sure, but they did bring weapon wheel to Snapmap and ability to make campaigns.

I'll take another look then.  To me, it's one of those things where they kind of listened to the complainers for release & left the ones who wanted another Doom game behind.  The several "balance" patches & new snapmap enhancements just make me feel like you're just being reactive to people who complain & didn't actually want to give us a finished product in that regard. 

I miss the old days of a game's MP was based around it's SP.  Made all the MP in different games unique.  That was back before the 'net turned everyone in to a critic.  :)
