Apparently by default runAAS2 tries calling Incredibuild for distributed AAS compiling.

If you run compiler with "st" switch, it will build AAS locally out of the box:
 
runAAS2 <mapname> st

I just wish someone added either IQM or better yet glTF 2.0 support to it, lightstyles (to make animated lights), whatever improvements to gameplay that accumulated over the years and it could be a new candidate for modding in 2021.

I know you like games with a back story/lore, that's got gobs of it.  I bought it on sale a couple months ago.  I'm loving that game.  The deluxe edition includes the audio book based on the game.  We (aka family) listened to that on a trip this summer.  Even my wife liked it!

Nah, I haven't. Lately I haven't had time to play anything. Still somewhere in the beginning of Half-Life: Alyx and just barely scratch the surface of Destiny 2: Beyond Light. Also have Gears 5 and Quantum Break installed some time ago and haven't even launched it :(

At this moment I have an old workstation (C2D/4Gb/Geforce9600) with hdd which is fall with MSVC2013, compiled sources, game resources (D3 and D3BFG both), 3D, editors, mods, swf, textures and other stuff  :D

~80% of those content was backuped on dvd but...

I'm at the doubt right now. There are a lot of thoughts about next path (e.g. about reasonability to build a new platform or restore old, migration to modern environment or stayed on current etc). Not sure how to express it in your way of thinking... The change of prioritets? A crossroad? Age's grumbling?  ;D

Worst of all I lost my english skills without practice.

But this is a good site with interesting people and info. Then let it be.

You should get on Discord to practice language (or not, some people can be intolerant to non-native speakers). It's real-time chat basically, like good ol' IRC, but better.

There is page to download IncrediBuild, so unless you already downloaded it and got the tools, you are pretty much screwed with AI.

You are set to fail (and you surely will, just like a handful of silly modders before you) because you are aiming at doing something usually AAA companies do (and you are using dead tech).

Start small - make a small mod using existing assets. Make a map from scratch, with new AIs. Release it. Then go from there.

Just saw your moddb page... Smh..

You will not be able to do the following:
- Ray tracing
- AI compiling
- Fixing door glitch in toolkit
- Better texture quality
- Flying (as opposed to driving) mode
- New menu and UI
- The ability to program cinematics
- Any other more modern ways to simulate light and shadows

There is no source code available. No one can implement raytracing, better textures, flying, cinematics, light/shadow without source code.

AI compiling is highly unlikely too, because ID has a standalone tool used to build AI nav. Without knowing file formats and inner working of the engine's AI you can't build such tool.

Menu/UI uses Adobe Flash which is scheduled to be killed off soon. You can't replace Flash menu system with nothing else because there is no engine source.

As for: - Jumping (which can be disabled / enabled); player can jump in RAGE.

Your best bet is to stay within the scope if what RAGE's modding toolkit offers and forget about anything that involves AI / rendering / new menus.

BTW, I liked the end boss level.  What did you guys think?  I also like it was nice how the game actually seemed to end vs the cliffhanger endings we get so much these days.

I thought it was okay'ish.. I mean, it was better than RAGE's ending :P I think Icon of Sin fight in original (old) Doom was a better boss fight.

I think the cliffhanger is that "NOOOOO!" voice on the Khan Makyr's level after you finished her off. Whoever yelled it out might be the boss of upcoming DLC?

You can't use the cheat discs to get slayer keys though, but depending on the slayer key(s) you missed, the upgraded, heavier weapons will most likely make it really easy to get now.  :)

That's what I found out last night going through Cultists' Base.. I had sentinel armor enabled and slayer key wasn't there!! Imagine how I felt going back and replaying level yet again, but without cheat code  ::)

So, 4 more sentinel keys to go...

Alright, I beat the game  8)

I think they had brain fart designing Icon of Sin combat. I was shocked to find out they didn't have Marauder on the last level  ::)

Out of curiosity I am going to try unlocking Unmakyr (probably need to use cheat codes to not waste time, since I could really use it to play Half-Life Alyx :P )

Btw, while having team pics in the credits is a nice gesture, I really enjoyed Doom 2016 end game credits a lot more.

I know all that.. It's just grindy level and grindy way of killing the boss. Sloppy design IMO.

I might just try unlocking Unmakyr and using that on her instead of grinding through that level....
